POS Channels

Configure settings for the Point-of-Sale channel(s).

Steps:

  1. Click on the Add button.
  2. Configure the tab settings as required. Refer to the POS Configuration section below for details.
  3. Click on the Add button to add additional channels as necessary.
  4. Click on the Dispenser Channels tab to continue configuration.

POS Configuration

Configure communication and decimal precision settings for your Point-of-Sale system.

Field Options Description
Comm Type Ethernet, Serial Communication method used to connect to the POS system.
Port Ethernet port # (Ethernet Comm Type) or COM port # (Serial Comm Type). Ethernet port or COM port used to connect to POS system.
Protocol PCC, IFSF, PAM1000, HyperPIB, FuelDirectSocketSerial Specifies the POS protocol.
Volume DP 0, 1, 2, 3 Decimal places for fuel Volume. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
Dollar DP 0, 1, 2, 3 Decimal places for Amount. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
PPU DP 0, 1, 2, 3 Decimal places for Price Per Unit. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.

Dispenser Channels

Configure settings for the dispenser channel(s).

Steps:

  1. Click on the Add Channel button.
  2. Select a protocol and configure the tab settings as required.
  3. Set the number of fueling positions to be configured in the Count selection box at the bottom.
  4. Click on the Add Fueling Positions button.
  5. Modify the individual fueling positions as needed.
  6. Click on the OK button.
  7. To view or modify previously saved fueling positions, click on the View/Edit Positions button.
  8. Add additional dispenser channels as necessary (repeating steps 1-6.)
  9. Click on the Save button to create the XML file.

To load and modify an existing XML file:

  1. Click on the Load button.
  2. Choose the file to be modified.
  3. Make the necessary changes as described above and save the file.

Add Channel

The Add Channel button creates a new dispenser channel tab for configuration.

Steps:

  1. Click the Add Channel button.
  2. A new channel tab will appear with default settings.
  3. Configure the tab settings as required.

Remove Channel

The Remove button deletes the currently selected channel tab.

Steps:

  1. Select the channel tab to remove.
  2. Click the Remove Channel button.
  3. The tab will be removed, and the remaining tabs will be reordered automatically.

Dispenser Channel Configuration

Configure the communication and settings for each dispenser brand. Below are the additional fields available for each protocol.

Protocol Additional Fields
Gilbarco
  • Volume DP: Decimal places for fuel Volume. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • Dollar DP: Decimal places for Amount. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • PPU DP: Decimal places for Price Per Unit. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • Channel Speed: Defines the communication speed (e.g., Modular or Legacy) for the channel. In order to use Modular communications, all dispensers on the channel must be able to handle Modular communication speed.
  • Digit Mode: Sets the number of digits the dispenser display can handle.
  • Special Function Commands (SFC): Enables Special Function Commands (SFC). Recommended to be enabled (if the dispenser can handle them) for enhanced functionality.
  • PPU x10: Enables 10x scaling for the Price Per Unit (PPU).
  • Hose Test: Activates hose testing functionality. This is necessary to ensure that the hose number is correct during a transaction.
  • NEL: Selection for proper compatibility with NEL Hydrogen dispensers.
Wayne
  • Volume DP: Decimal places for fuel Volume. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • Dollar DP: Decimal places for Amount. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • PPU DP: Decimal places for Price Per Unit. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • # of PPU Displays: Sets the number of PPU displays (1 or 2) to match the dispenser.
  • 7 Digit Auth: Enables authorization using 7 digits.
  • BCD: Activates BCD (Binary-Coded Decimal) mode. Recommended to be enabled (for dispensers that can handle it) for better accuracy of sales data.
  • MOP: Enable when the dispenser has MOP buttons (selections for Cash and Credit on the dispenser.)
  • Use Dispenser DP Settings: Uses the pump-defined decimal configurations instead of the user-defined decimals in the config.xml file.
Bennett CL/485
  • Volume DP: Decimal places for fuel Volume. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • Dollar DP: Decimal places for Amount. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • PPU DP: Decimal places for Price Per Unit. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • # of PPU Displays: Sets the number of PPU displays (1 or 2) to match the dispenser.
  • Model: Specifies the dispenser model (e.g., 1-Handle SPD, Blender, MPD). Must be set correctly for each fueling position for proper functionality of the dispenser.
Tokheim
  • Volume DP: Decimal places for fuel Volume. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • Dollar DP: Decimal places for Amount. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • PPU DP: Decimal places for Price Per Unit. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • Model: Specifies the dispenser model (e.g., 262, TCS Blender). Must be set correctly for each fueling position for proper functionality of the dispenser.
  • Gallons/Liters: Specifies the use of Gallons or Liters for the volume measurement.
Kraus
  • Volume DP: Decimal places for fuel Volume. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • Dollar DP: Decimal places for Amount. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • PPU DP: Decimal places for Price Per Unit. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • Model: Specifies the dispenser model (e.g., KRAUS, MTI). Must be set correctly for each fueling position for proper functionality of the dispenser.
Deer
  • Volume DP: Decimal places for fuel Volume. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • Dollar DP: Decimal places for Amount. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • PPU DP: Decimal places for Price Per Unit. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • Digit Volume: Sets the digit volume mode (2 or 3 digits).
  • # of PPU Displays: Sets the number of PPU displays (1 or 2) to match the dispenser.
  • Digit Preset: Sets the digit preset mode (4 or 6 digits).
PMC
  • Volume DP: Decimal places for fuel Volume. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • Dollar DP: Decimal places for Amount. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • PPU DP: Decimal places for Price Per Unit. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • Preset Type: Defines the preset type (e.g., Dollar, Volume).
Generic
  • Volume DP: Decimal places for fuel Volume. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • Dollar DP: Decimal places for Amount. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • PPU DP: Decimal places for Price Per Unit. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
Tatsuno
  • Volume DP: Decimal places for fuel Volume. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • Dollar DP: Decimal places for Amount. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • PPU DP: Decimal places for Price Per Unit. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
Donghwa
  • Volume DP: Decimal places for fuel Volume. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • Dollar DP: Decimal places for Amount. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • PPU DP: Decimal places for Price Per Unit. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
Mechanical
  • Volume DP: Decimal places for fuel Volume. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • Dollar DP: Decimal places for Amount. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • PPU DP: Decimal places for Price Per Unit. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
DART
  • Volume DP: Decimal places for fuel Volume. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • Dollar DP: Decimal places for Amount. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • PPU DP: Decimal places for Price Per Unit. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
Nuovo Pignone
  • Volume DP: Decimal places for fuel Volume. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • Dollar DP: Decimal places for Amount. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • PPU DP: Decimal places for Price Per Unit. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
Hongyang
  • Volume DP: Decimal places for fuel Volume. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • Dollar DP: Decimal places for Amount. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.
  • PPU DP: Decimal places for Price Per Unit. Number of digits shown to the right of the decimal point.

Refer to the additional fields based on the selected protocol for each dispenser channel. Update these fields in the configuration as required for your system setup.

Add Fueling Positions

Configure fueling positions specific to the selected dispenser channel.

Steps:

  1. Select a channel tab.
  2. Click Add Fueling Positions.
  3. Enter or modify fueling position details in the new window.

Save Configuration

Save the current configuration settings as an XML file.

Steps:

  1. Click the Save button.
  2. Choose a file name and location to save the configuration file. FD2 requires the file name to be config.xml.
  3. Confirm the save operation.

Lantronix

Use this tab to discover Lantronix XPort/XNet devices on your local network and assign a static IP configuration.


Discover Devices

Find Lantronix devices on the selected network interface.

Steps:

  1. Select the correct Network Interface (IPv4) from the dropdown (this should be on the same subnet as the device).
  2. Click Discover.
  3. Discovered devices will populate the grid with IP, MAC, Product, and FW Code.

Tip: If no devices are found, verify you selected the correct NIC/subnet and that the device is powered and connected to the same network.

Assign Static IP

Assign a new static IP/mask/gateway to the selected Lantronix device.

Steps:

  1. Run Discover to populate the device list.
  2. Select a device row in the grid. The static IP change will be sent to the device currently at the selected row’s IP.
  3. Enter the desired values in New IP, Mask, and Gateway.
  4. Click Assign IP.
